Dr. George Jacobs

Dr. Jacobs brings an amazing 42 years of experience to every exam and treatment he provides, and nothing makes him happier than forming long-term relationships with his patients and watching them thrive as he takes care of their smiles. He considers each team member and patient to be a part of his extended family, and he can’t wait for you to join it. To learn a little more about Dr. Jacobs, read on below.

Why Did You Decide to
Become a Dentist?

Starting as a senior in high school, Dr. Jacobs aspired to be a dentist. He was always interested in the sciences and liked working with his hands, so the profession sounded like a good fit on the surface. After speaking with other dentists, his path was set, and he couldn’t be happier with the decision he made all those decades ago.

Where Did You Study
Dentistry?

After graduating from the University of Florida, Dr. Jacobs attended Virginia Commonwealth University/the Medical College of Virginia to obtain his dental degree. He moved to Newport News after briefly practicing in Florida to join his father-in-law, and this is the office he still works at today, now alongside his brother-in-law, our own Dr. Michael Link.

Over the years, Dr. Jacobs has consistently taken continuing education courses, enabling him to stay on top of the latest advancements in dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside of the Dental Office,
What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Jacobs and his wife, Terry, have been married for 41 years, and they have two children, Allan and Alyson, as well as two grandchildren, Kenzie and Avery. Everyone lives close together, so he gets plenty of family time. He is also an avid runner and high-handicap golfer who is always up for a game. At home, you’ll usually find him working in his large yard throughout the weekend.
